Sprint Car Drivetrain

The drivetrain is what transfers the power from the motor to the rear wheels, and hopefully to the ground. Since there is no transmission, no power is lost, and on a dry slick track where traction is at a premium, the motor can easily spin the tires.

        • Very Simple... In Gear − OR − Out of Gear
        • Once the car comes out of gear, it can not go back into gear until the motor is turned off.
        • Starting A Sprint Car :
          1. Driver pulls up on a lever to the right side of the cockpit to put the car "in gear".
          2. Car is rocked to make sure the gears are fully engaged.
          3. A truck then pushes the car.
          4. Once oil pressure builds up in the engine.
          5. Driver reaches between their legs and turns the fuel on.
          6. The sprintcar usualy pops and cracks once, then roars to life!
          7. The driver thanks the push truck driver by waving.
          8. The car takes off without touching the loud pedal, but once you're sure that you've left the pushtruck in the in the dust, it's hard not to goose it at least once to make sure that she'll run...
